Diploma of Health Care/Bachelor of Nursing

Course Description

A Diploma of Health Care/Bachelor of Nursing is a combined program that allows students to obtain both a diploma and a bachelor's degree in nursing. The program typically takes four to five years to complete, depending on the university and program.

The Diploma of Health Care portion of the program provides students with foundational knowledge and skills in health care, including anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and communication skills. This portion of the program usually takes one to two years to complete.

The Bachelor of Nursing portion of the program builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the Diploma of Health Care program and provides students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in nursing. This portion of the program usually takes three to four years to complete.

During the program, students will learn about nursing practice, health assessment, patient care, pharmacology, and other related topics. They will also learn about leadership, ethics, and research, which will help them become effective healthcare providers.

Upon completion of the program, graduates can work as registered nurses in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and community health centers. They can also pursue further education and training in specialized areas of nursing or pursue a master's degree in nursing.
