Course Description

Laws are rules or regulations that are enforced by a governing authority or institution. Laws are created to maintain social order, protect individual rights and freedoms, and prevent and punish criminal behavior.

Laws can be classified into different categories based on their source and subject matter. Some common categories of laws include:

1. Constitutional law: This is the set of rules and principles that govern the operation of a country's constitution. Constitutional law defines the powers and limitations of the government and protects individual rights and freedoms.

2. Criminal law: This is the set of rules and principles that govern the behavior of individuals in society. Criminal law defines criminal offenses and specifies the punishment for those who violate the law.

3. Civil law: This is the set of rules and principles that govern the relationships between individuals or organizations. Civil law includes contract law, tort law, and family law, among others.
