Course Description

A three-year advanced diploma in accounting is a postsecondary educational program that prepares students for careers in the field of accounting. Accounting involves the process of recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions to provide information that is useful in making business decisions.

In this program, students will likely develop in-depth technical knowledge of a range of accounting topics, including financial accounting, cost and managerial accounting, taxation, financial management, auditing, and technology applications. They may also learn about the principles and practices of accounting, as well as the legal and ethical considerations that are involved in the field.

• Record financial transactions in compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for sole proprietorships, partnerships, private enterprises, publicly accountable enterprises and non-profit organizations.
• Prepare and present financial statements, reports and other documents in compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for sole proprietorships, partnerships and private enterprises.
