Computing science encompasses a wide range of topics, including large-scale software engineering, human-computer interface design and assessment, algorithms, computer and network systems, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, and big data systems. In 2017, the School of Computing Science established the groundbreaking Centre for Computing Science Education in acknowledgement of KSL's dedication to educational leadership and innovation. The British Computer Society (BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT, recognises Computing Science graduates as meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered IT Professional (CITP). In four of the previous nine years, the National Student Survey has placed the School of Computing Science top in total student satisfaction. Researchers who are top in their fields create and teach the courses. The School of Computing Science launched the pioneering Centre for Computing Science Education in 2017, in recognition of KSL's commitment to leadership and innovation in educational practice.
