From a social science viewpoint, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for students to build a critical awareness of major topics in health and medicine, health policy and health planning, and the determinants of health and health inequality. The MSc and MRes are both fully multidisciplinary in structure and content, allowing students to focus their studies on the global health challenges that interest them the most. Students will investigate health challenges that affect many populations and traverse national borders, such as social and cultural constructs of health, chronic disease and disability, as well as global and national health policy. Students will conduct a critical examination of health and its causes, as well as gain a comprehensive awareness of the impact and function of equality and inequality.
