Bachelor of Nursing

Course Description

A Bachelor of Nursing is an undergraduate degree program designed to prepare students for a career as a registered nurse (RN). This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care in a variety of healthcare settings.

The curriculum of a Bachelor of Nursing program typically includes courses in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, nursing theory, healthcare ethics, and healthcare policy. Students may also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through clinical rotations and internships in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.

Upon completion of a Bachelor of Nursing program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required to obtain a license to practice as a registered nurse. Registered nurses may work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, schools, and home healthcare agencies. They may also specialize in areas such as pediatrics, oncology, critical care, or gerontology.

In addition to becoming a registered nurse, a Bachelor of Nursing degree can also prepare students for advanced studies in nursing, such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). These programs can provide opportunities for specialization in areas such as nursing education, nursing leadership, or advanced practice nursing.
