Course Description

This Master's programme is designed to provide the training and development needed to meet the growing demand for highly skilled scientists in the global bioscience sector. Biotechnology is expected to be one of the most important applied sciences of the twenty-first century, as well as a key driver of the global economy. The course at Coventry is intended to broaden students' understanding of the molecular, biochemical, cell biological, and genetic techniques that underpin modern biotechnology, as well as how they can be used to solve real-world problems and benefit society. Students will be trained in biotechnology research strategies, giving them the opportunity to learn about the nature of business based on bioscience knowledge and research, opportunities for innovation, regulatory requirement constraints, intellectual property, and ethical issues.

Graduation : 55% Applicants should hold the equivalent of a 2:2 (2.1 for the professional experience course) undergraduate degree in Bioscience or Biological Chemistry Applicants must have achieved 60% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree or 55% in a 4 Year It is expected to see the study of the following subjects in the final year of the undergraduate degree: molecular biology (e.g. recombinant DNA), microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology.
PTE : No specific cutoff mentioned.
IELTS : Marks - 6.5/9 With no component lower than 5.5.

Other eligibility criteria : Applicants with 65% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand) may be exempted from the English language requirement.
