Course Description

This two-year master qualification provides students with specialised knowledge and professional engineering skills to prepare them for a career in one of the rapidly-growing application areas of mechatronics: robotics and automation, control engineering, computer vision, and smart grids. The program builds on the Australian National University’s interdisciplinary engineering focus and research expertise to give students the required skills to address complex multi-disciplinary problems, while at the same time providing advanced technical knowledge in one or more of the above fields. Work-integrated learning is an important part of the program and is delivered through the group project and integrated exposure to professional practice throughout the program.

Graduation : CGPA - 5/7 Applicant must have a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering with Honours or international equivalent in a cognate discipline with a minimum GPA of 5.0 on a 7.0 scale Cognate disciplines are- Electrical and/or Electronics Automation, Control Intelligent Systems Robotics Information Engineering Biomedical Mechatronics Mechanical Manufacturing Optoelectronics Computer Engineering Communications/Telecommunications
TOEFL : Marks - 80/120 with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening
PTE : Marks - 64/90 Minimum score of 55 in each section
IELTS : Marks - 6.5/9 with at least 6 in each component

Other eligibility criteria : ELP waiver: Applicants with tertiary qualification taught and assessed entirely in English may be exempted from the ELP requirement: Applicants must have successfully completed two years of full-time (or equivalent) tertiary education within the last four years. Applicants need to submit the documentary evidence means a statement or certificate of confirmation issued by the Registrar’s office (or equivalent) of the institution at which tertiary study was undertaken Applicants will first be ranked on a GPA ('GPA1') that is calculated using all but the last semester (or equivalent) of the Bachelor's degree used for admission purposes. If required, the ranking may further be confirmed on the basis of a GPA ('GPA2') calculated on the penultimate and antepenultimate semesters (or equivalent) of the Bachelor degree used for admission purposes.
