The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) is a public research-intensive university in Canada with its main campus located in Prince George, British Columbia and regional campuses in northern British Columbia. UNBC has been successful in attracting funding to establish 13 endowed research chairs and is considered one of the most research-intensive universities in Canada. It offers excellent teaching and research opportunities to students and offers a dual degree in Environmental Engineering with the University of British Columbia. Indian students who have studied entirely in English for the last 5 years can be exempt from IELTS by submitting a medium of instruction letter from their school. UNBC is accredited by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training of British Columbia, and students attending UNBC may gain additional points for permanent residency.
