Civil engineers design and construct important structures, as well as provide the skills and experience needed to plan, construct, and maintain the country's infrastructure. The strength of this curriculum is its integration of scientific inquiry, engineering design, and creative problem solving to address the difficult and complex real-world challenges that professional civil engineers face. Students will participate in a week-long residential construction project called 'Constructionarium,' in which they will scale down classic structures using a variety of construction materials. Students will collaborate with Architecture and Quantity Surveyor students from Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow Caledonian University on the five-week Interact project. Glasgow University Civil Engineers (GUCE) and the Female Engineering Society are two engineering-focused student organisations (FemEng).
