Civil engineering is a professional engineering subject concerned with the design, construction, and maintenance of the natural and built environment. Students working as civil engineers may be responsible for the construction of bridges, tunnels, flood control systems, towering skyscrapers, and other significant constructions. The next several decades are expected to be among the most difficult for the civil engineering community. Progressive urbanisation, rising populations, continued economic growth, climate change, and the ongoing risk of catastrophic occurrences already pose several risks to infrastructure, and this curriculum creates graduates who are industry-ready.
