Course Description

Computer technology, it seems, is everywhere in today’s world. It has become an ever-growing part of human life, affecting many aspects of a person’s day. Computer scientists have an impact on how our society advances by developing and maintaining these systems: whether it be for our home, work, learning or entertainment environments. University of Auckland’s Computer science programme will cover how information is stored in computers (data structures and management), how computers are told what to do (algorithms and programming languages), how systems work (computer architecture and system software), how computers are connected (data communications, networks and hypermedia), ways in which computers can be used (applications), what computers can do, and their limitations (computability and complexity theory). If you’re interested in a relevant and dynamic field of study and working in an industry where there is a real demand for expertise, then the Computer Science programme is for you.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility

12th : 80% Applicants must have passed 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 80% in the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC) and Indian School Certificate (ISC), Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal State Board Examinations with a minimum of 70 percent in English 80 percent in all other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations with a minimum of 75 percent in English.
TOEFL : Marks - 80/120 Writing score: 21.
PTE : Marks - 50/90 Communicative skills score: 42.
IELTS : Marks - 6/9 No bands less than 5.5.

Other eligibility criteria : Applicants are not required to submit English language proficiency scores, if they have scored 70% in English awarded from Indian School Certificate (ISC) or All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC); and 80% from all other Higher Secondary State Boards.
