Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1970 is a private institute located in Auckland, New Zealand. MIT is a Category One institute, i.e., it is the highest possible educational rating as evaluated by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). MIT is one of the largest providers of technical, vocational and professional education in New Zealand and has over 14,000 enrolled students, which include over 1000 international students, with a total staff of over 660, the institute has a student/faculty ratio of 17:1. On 1 April 2020, Manukau Institute of Technology was subsumed into the New Zealand Institute of Skills & Technology alongside the 15 other Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs).

The main campus; Established in 1970, is located just off the southern motorway. At MIT Ōtara students can study animal care, baking, culinary and hospitality, education, floristry, hairdressing, languages, logistics, police preparation, social work, sport, supported learning, or take their IELTS test with British Council at MIT.
At MIT Manukau, business administration, business and management, digital technologies, health and counselling, nursing, and logistics is taught.
Tech Park, a purpose-built facility with the latest technology and innovations, brings all the institute’s trades and engineering schools under one roof for the first time since MIT was founded almost 50 years ago. AT MIT Tech Park, arboriculture and landscape construction, automotive technologies, building, carpentry and construction, electrical trades, mechanical engineering trades, plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying, professional engineering, and refrigeration and air conditioning are taught.
School of Maritime- Get on board with a career at sea, right in the heart of Auckland city. With a history going back 70 years, the New Zealand Maritime School (City campus), has established itself as a premier provider of maritime training in New Zealand. Located on Auckland city's waterfront, where the maritime industry is just outside the window, students can get on board with a career at sea, by the sea.
