Manukau Institute of Technology

Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1970 is a private institute located in Auckland, New Zealand. MIT is a Category One institute, i.e., it is the highest possible educational rating as evaluated by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). MIT is one of the largest providers of technical, vocational and professional education in New Zealand and has over 14,000 enrolled students, which include over 1000 international students, with a total staff of over 660, the institute has a student/faculty ratio of 17:1. On 1 April 2020, Manukau Institute of Technology was subsumed into the New Zealand Institute of Skills & Technology alongside the 15 other Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs).

The main campus; Established in 1970, is located just off the southern motorway. At MIT Ōtara students can study animal care, baking, culinary and hospitality, education, floristry, hairdressing, languages, logistics, police preparation, social work, sport, supported learning, or take their IELTS test with British Council at MIT.
