Campus Information

In January 2011, the Sighthill Campus welcomed students from the School of Health and Social Care and the School of Applied Sciences. A five-story learning resource centre, 25 specialised teaching rooms, including clinical skills laboratories, three IT-enabled lecture theatres and seminar rooms, a clinical skills suite, and integrated sports facilities are all part of the campus. The campus has received BREEAM Excellent certification for excellent practices in sustainable design. A new sports facility on the Sighthill site contains a biomechanics laboratory and an environmental chamber that can reproduce high altitude settings with controlled temperature and humidity levels to simulate varied climatic conditions. The SRU Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy Edinburgh moved into Sighthill's gym facilities in 2016.

The Business School is located on the Craiglockhart Campus. It includes the Craiglockhart Hydropathic Hospital buildings, which were once known as the Craiglockhart War Hospital and treated First World War poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon. The Craiglockhart Campus features photography, poetry, film, and memorabilia to provide visitors with an insight into the thoughts of Craiglockhart's poets, patients, and medical personnel. This campus is home to the law and business programmes, as well as a convention centre. In 2004, the Craiglockhart Campus was completely renovated and expanded, and it now houses two lecture theatres, language labs, computing facilities, and a large library.
